LEGAL ENGLISH – ILEC Exam
This Course is intended for lawyers, advocates and judges, or for students who are about to enter the legal profession and wish to improve their use of legal English.
An Intermediate level of English is required.
The Course is sufficiently flexible to fulfill the needs of all students.
The Course will concentrate on LEGALESE OR “The Language of the Law” and will include various systems and applications of the Law.
The aims of the course are:
- Comprehension: students will be able to understand spoken Legal English
- Speaking: students will be able to use the vocabulary learnt and communicate in various legal situations: e.g. interrogations, depositions, etc
- Reading: students will be able to read and understand a legal document written in English
- Writing: Students will be able to write a legal document
